Dr Meng Tan graduated from The University of Queensland Medical School in 1997 and completed his neurology training in Brisbane. He spent 4 years at the Mayo Clinic then 8 years in Melbourne before returning to Queensland in 2017 as the Director of Neurology for Gold Coast Health. His clinical expertise and research interest is in epilepsy and autoimmune neurology. 

In addition to striving to provide excellent care to his own patients in neurology, Meng works tirelessly in medical education and clinical leadership, facilitating better health care to the broader community. He holds multiple roles with Gold Coast Health and the Therapeutic Goods Administration overseeing medicines regulation and governance. He volunteers his time with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in various capacities, including College examiner and reviewer of physician training program accreditation.
