Paediatric Cardiology
We are excited to welcome Dr Amol Moray, Paediatric Cardiologist to our practice. Dr Moray will be joining us towards the end of August 2021.
Congenital heart problems are issues a baby is born with, including ‘holes’ in the heart, or blocked or leaky valves, just to name a few.
Acquired conditions affect a previously normal heart, some examples are Kawasaki disease, rheumatic heart disease, myo-pericarditis, and high lung blood pressure (pulmonary hypertension) which may affect the functioning of right side of the heart, for e.g. in ex-premmies and children with chronic respiratory issues.
Heart rhythm problems related to abnormal electrical connections in the heart (SVT) or related to inherited conditions like long QT syndrome, can lead to an abnormally fast but a very ineffectively beating heart leading to faints or near faints in children and teenagers.
